Senior Software Engineer - Remote - $220k + Package

Venchr

We are looking for a full stack software engineer who enjoys building reliable, high-throughput systems where correctness is non-negotiable and latency matters. You will work across the stack on an event-driven platform that processes continuous streams of user interactions, documents, financial events, and AI-generated outputs, turning them into accurate, auditable results that real people depend on. The work involves designing and operating streaming pipelines, keeping strong consistency guarantees where they count, and pairing that infrastructure with product surfaces that feel simple even when the underlying domain is not. You will own features from the TypeScript frontend through Python services that consume and produce events. Expect to work with Kafka (or an equivalent streaming system) for ingestion, transformation, and fan-out of high-volume data, while also shipping the APIs, state management, and user-facing flows that sit on top of those pipelines. The problems include modeling complex, partially ordered workflows, reconciling asynchronous updates without losing invariants, integrating large language models with deterministic validation layers, and making the whole system observable and resilient when something unexpected arrives in the stream. Type safety, clear contracts between services, and the ability to reason about failure modes are more important here than raw feature velocity. We need someone who already has meaningful experience with Python and TypeScript in production, plus hands-on work with Kafka or another streaming platform. You should be comfortable owning both the data path and the product path, writing code that other engineers can safely extend, and debugging issues that span producers, consumers, and the databases or caches that sit alongside them. Prior exposure to financial, compliance-sensitive, or document-heavy domains is useful but not required; curiosity about how to keep AI outputs grounded and how to design systems that remain correct under continuous change is more valuable. If you like the feeling of tracing an event from the moment it is produced until a user sees the right outcome, if you care about the difference between “it usually works” and “it is safe to rely on,” and if you want to spend your time on the interesting edges of distributed systems and applied AI rather than pure CRUD, this role is worth a conversation. We are a small, technically strong team and we value people who can move fluidly between systems design and shipping polished product.
