Our talented team brings hands-on expertise in targeted areas of innovation, dedicated to the diligent exploration and support of emerging breakthroughs in both industry and academia.  Our mission is simple: we power breakthrough therapies that transform the lives of millions.  RTW Investments – Recent Press   Role Overview  The Vice President will work with the Managing Director and New Ventures team to identify and evaluation opportunities for company creation. The Vice President will be responsible for developing investment theses for drug acquisition targets within given therapeutic area(s). This position is full-time and reports to the Managing Director, New Ventures.   Key Responsibilities   Source and maintain a pipeline of novel drug development ideas for NewCos within given therapeutic area(s)  Conduct proprietary research to analyze assets across science, disease, commercial, IP, CMC, clin dev, regulatory, and valuation verticals.   Write, pitch, and maintain investment notes for company ideas. Build pitch deck including recommended deal terms, clinical development, and financing  Develop expertise within therapeutic area(s) of coverage  Attend all relevant medical, banking and partnering conferences   Convert ideas into NewCos with successful PnL   Qualifications and Skills  Bachelor’s degree required, Advanced degree (MD or PhD) strongly preferred. All applicants MUST have a degree in and a strong understanding of biological sciences.   5+ years of experience focused on the biotech/pharmaceutical sector, buy-side role preferred  Also open to MD/PhDs with <5 years of experience who are looking to make a career switch  Ability to operate independently on both strategic and tactical tasks, and clearly articulate the process involved  Investor mindset, deep experience with producing research notes  Relevant academic or industry experience in the life sciences is preferred  Excellent written and verbal communication skills  Demonstrated tenacity in conducting detailed research and presenting findings  New York based with willingness to travel (15%)  The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time.  Compensation & Benefits  Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits  Healthcare concierge service  FSA and HSA savings plans  401(k) plan and company match  Employee Assistance Program (EAP)  Corporate fitness and wellbeing benefit (Gympass)  Pretax commuter benefits  The total compensation for this role includes a base salary, competitive bonus structure, and comprehensive benefits. The target annual cash compensation range is $425,000+, though will be determined by a variety of factors including prior experience, relevant expertise, and the scope of responsibilities assigned.
