OBSS is looking for an experienced Cobol Developer to take part in large-scale Cobol development projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, design and maintain mainframe-based solutions, and contribute to mission-critical systems for leading industries. Main Responsibilities Develop, test, and maintain Cobol applications according to project requirements. Work within Mainframe Architecture and ensure efficient performance across systems. Design and manage solutions using JCL, Coolgen, PL/1, MVS, TSO, and CICS. Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies. Integrate distributed systems, ensuring compatibility with Git and other source control systems. Support and optimize existing solutions, with a focus on performance and scalability. Share technical expertise with team members and contribute to code reviews. Qualifications / Technical Skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or a related field. Minimum 8 years of professional Cobol development experience. Strong knowledge of Mainframe Architecture and related tools (JCL, PL/1, MVS, TSO, CICS, Coolgen). Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Experience with distributed software source control systems (e.g., Git). Preferably experience in payment systems. Preferably knowledge of Java, Spring Framework, JSP, and web services (REST, SOAP). Willingness to learn or prior experience with SQL Developer, ODI, Splunk, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills. High energy, motivation, and a results-oriented mindset. Ability to approach AI with curiosity and intention, actively incorporating AI-powered tools into workflows to enhance productivity and drive innovation.
