The opportunity now is to join a rocketship as we prepare for the next stage of growth, and an eventual public listing.This role is onsite 5 days a week in Clifton, NJ Facility Manager About the role As a Facility Manager, you are responsible for making sure systems of the built environment, or facility, work harmoniously. You make sure the places in which people work, play, learn and live are safe, comfortable, productive and sustainable. You will contribute to the organization’s bottom line through your responsibility for maintaining what are often an organization’s largest and most valuable assets, such as property, buildings, equipment and other environments that house personnel, productivity, inventory and other elements of operation. Responsibilities: Safety and compliance Uphold OSHA, EPA and site safety standards and industry codes at both sites Own fire and life safety: fire suppression, sprinkler and alarm testing Share accountability for OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) compliance for the Clifton ammonia system Enforce lock-out/tag-out and safe work practices; act as a HazMat responder when needed Own the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) binder at both sites Maintenance and building systems Build and run a preventative maintenance and life-cycle program for HVAC and other facility systems to cut unplanned downtime Lead and document daily, weekly, monthly and annual inspections Manage racking inspections and upkeep, plus trash and cardboard compactors Advise on and track energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives Powered industrial trucks (PIT) Own PIT daily safety checks, preventative maintenance, and operator training and certification at both sites Refrigeration co-management (Clifton) Partner with the Chief Refrigeration Engineer on the ammonia freezer and glycol cooler systems, covering compliance, PM scheduling, budget and vendor coordination Security and team leadership Manage the security function and the facility/maintenance team at both sites, including staffing, training and performance Train warehouse staff and supervisors on facility SOPs, PIT certification and emergency action procedures Emergency response Respond quickly to alarms, system failures, shutdowns and emergencies at either site, including off-hours Maintain plans that reduce the impact of natural disasters and other disruptions Vendors and budget Procure bids, negotiate and review service contracts, and manage providers across both sites Prepare and track facility budgets, expenses and maintenance costs; report regularly and drive cost-reduction initiatives Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering or related qualification such as project management, business management or construction management, or a related field 5+ years of work experience in a warehouse management role Experience leading a security function and a facility/maintenance team Working knowledge of OSHA safety, HazMat protocols and environmental compliance, including familiarity with OSHA PSM and EPA RMP for ammonia facilities Experience running PIT programs: daily safety checks, preventative maintenance, and operator training and certification Facility services experience across security, fire, janitorial and equipment maintenance Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills for general facility systems Experience managing facility budgets, contracts and vendors across multiple sites Ability to partner well with technical specialists on systems outside your direct scope Excellent organization, attention to detail, reporting and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and work in cold/freezer environments Availability to respond to emergencies 24/7 when required Nice to have Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and/or glycol cooler systems HazMat Responder certification OSHA or Food Safety certification Six Sigma (Green Belt) or project management certification Benefits Comprehensive health insurance package, including medical, dental, and vision.  PPO/HMO packages 401k, 4% company match Equity and Bonus  Vacation, sick and holiday time off Monthly mobile stipend Monthly Weee! Points credits Compensation Range The US base salary range for this full-time position is $97,000 - $114,000 This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits  Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base salary for new hires for the position across all US locations.
