Electrical Engineer-E Houses

A Snapshot of Your Day The Electrical Systems department is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our Product Development team. The Electrical Systems department specifies, designs, and integrates power plant equipment, including E-houses, Excitation Systems, Start-Up Frequency Converters, Low Voltage Power Distribution Systems, Generator Protection, and Generator Electric Auxiliary Equipment. The successful candidate will design and specify E-houses, ensuring integration with other electrical equipment and existing plant infrastructure. This role requires a strong electrical engineering background, design expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a global, multidisciplinary team including various engineering disciplines, supply chain management, quality management, and program management. Key Responsibilities Design and develop E-house solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, while creating detailed layouts that focus on optimal space utilization and equipment integration. Collaborate with other electrical and control engineers to integrate electrical components such as LV motor control centers, batteries, excitation systems, control panels, and protection panels into E-houses, and work with interface partners to integrate E-houses into existing plant infrastructure, including fire protection systems, plant arrangements, and foundation plans. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, layout drawings, foundation interface information, and 3D models, while also maintaining and updating design variants to ensure compliance with regulations, codes, standards, and market requirements. Support other engineers and customers during proposal and project implementation activities to ensure successful project execution and participate in testing and validation processes to ensure compliance with design specifications and performance standards. Collaborate with vendors and other E-house experts to share best practices related to E-house design, and work with supply chain management to support new supplier qualification initiatives, cost update and cost improvement programs. What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Minimum 5 years of electrical design experience, focusing on modular or prefabricated systems, including E-house design. Proficient in interpreting and applying relevant standards for E-house design and installation (ANSI, OSHA, NFPA70, IEEE, IEC, IBC, ASHRAE). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting quality standards and deadlines. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of collaborating effectively with all stakeholders and across hierarchy levels. Ability to travel internationally for short durations (up to 10%). Familiarity with environmental control systems and HVAC design is a plus.
