Director of Sales for a top tier luxury catering & events company Location: East Bay
• Hybrid, Tuesday through Thursday The opportunity Our client is a long established luxury catering and events company that has been dubbed the best of the best! They are the trusted catering and event partner for a prestigious roster clients including Oprah, Oscar parties, Michelin-starred chefs, Vanity Fair, AirBnB, Salesforce, and so much more. The company produces about 200 events a year at the top of the market with roughly 70% of revenue coming from repeat clients. They are now hiring a Director of Sales to continue along their strong foundations and help grow the corporate business. Before 2020, the business was fairly even across corporate, weddings, and private social events. There was a shift, they now want to rebuild their corporate events segment and they need a leader who can drive that function. This isn't a templated sales role. No two events here are the same. Every proposal starts with an original concept, menu, design, and production plan built around client's goals. This person will oversee a team of 5, not purely work your own book of business. You will own the sales strategy, expand existing business, bring in new business, lead a growing and experienced team, and help discover new markets where they can be the exclusive caterer. This team does not need a micro-manager, they need a leader who can foster trust, motivation and work together on achieving a common goal. What you'll own Corporate sales strategy. Grow the company’s book of business by understanding how their various business development objectives intersect. Build the plan, pipeline, and targeting that turn corporate into a core revenue engine. Utilize data analytics & CRM tools to track performance and refine sales tactics. Team leadership. Lead a team of five
• effectively coach, set direction, and give experienced the team room to work and grow. Shared-goal culture. The team earns commission against shared goals, not individual quotas. Sellers cover for each other during heavy weeks. You lead in a way that strengthens that model. New business and new markets. Find corporate accounts, industries, and venue partnerships the company doesn't reach today. Account growth. Grow the value of existing relationships alongside new acquisition. Cross-functional partnership. Report into the CEO, work closely with the VP of Client Relations, and the Director of Event Management on goals, calendar capacity, and client experience. Client presence. Attend select events, often a few times a month. What you bring: 7–10 years of sales experience in catering, hospitality, or event sales. Ideally has sold for a Destination Management, catering and/or events company Understands the luxury space Strong leadership and relationship-building skills. Proven track record of exceeding revenue targets. Expertise in sales analytics, forecasting, and CRM tools. Flexibility to attend evening/weekend events as needed. Established industry network and knowledge of high-end clientele needs a plus. DOE: 130-150k (may be flex for higer) + tiered bonus, 200s OTE
