# Java Developer with Hadoop

Job Description Java Developer with Hadoop Must Have Technical/Functional Skills Primary Skill: Spring boot, Core java, Hadoop, pyspark, Hive Secondary: Kafka We are seeking a Java Developer with strong expertise in Java 10+ and modern backend application development. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in building scalable microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native applications. Exposure to Hadoop ecosystem technologies is required to support data-intensive applications and integrations, though this is not a core Hadoop development role. Must Have Skills Java 10+/11+/17+ Spring Boot Microservices Architecture RESTful Web Services Kafka OpenShift / Kubernetes Oracle SQL / PL-SQL JUnit, Mockito Git, Maven, CI/CD Basic to Intermediate Hadoop ecosystem experience Roles & Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot. Develop scalable Microservices and REST APIs. Integrate applications with distributed data platforms and messaging systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support. Optimize application performance and scalability. Work in Agile/Scrum development environments. Support data processing and integration workflows involving Hadoop-based platforms. Required Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices. Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services. Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architecture. Experience with OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes. Good understanding of relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar tools. Understanding of software design patterns and secure coding practices. Hadoop Experience (Good to Have / Secondary Skill) Candidate Should Possess Working Knowledge Of Hadoop ecosystem concepts (HDFS, YARN, Hive) Basic Hive query development and troubleshooting Understanding of data ingestion and batch processing workflows Experience working with Hadoop-based data platforms in support of application development Exposure to Spark is a plus Note: Hadoop is a secondary skill. Candidates are not expected to perform deep Hadoop administration, cluster management, or advanced big-data engineering. Preferred Skills Apache Spark NoSQL Databases (Cassandra/MongoDB) Splunk, Dynatrace AWS, Azure, or GCP Domain experience in Banking/Financial Services DevSecOps practices Salary Range- $110,000-$125,000 a year
