Oversees and maintains the Censitrac sterilization instrument tracking system. Assists with daily SPS operations and functions. This position requires a current, valid driver's license to drive a government vehicle on a regular and recurring basis to perform the duties of this position. Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but are not limited to: Oversee and administer the Censitrac instrument tracking system, ensuring accurate management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of SPS automated equipment tracking operations. Coordinate instrument maintenance and repair activities, collaborating with responsible staff to ensure timely servicing of reusable medical devices (RMD). Initiate and generate tracking reports, data analysis, and documentation for SPS leadership, quality management, VISN, and other internal and external stakeholders. Support SPS leadership, Logistics, and RMD Coordinators by ensuring newly acquired instrumentation and surgical sets are accurately registered within Censitrac. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and reference documents related to Censitrac and other tracking systems. Lead, train, and mentor Sterile Processing staff on instrument tracking, maintenance, repair, cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization processes. Communicate effectively with surgeons, nursing staff, residents, VISN personnel, and vendors regarding scheduling, inventory, and RMD utilization. Apply extensive knowledge of sterile processing procedures, surgical instrumentation, aseptic techniques, and decontamination workflows to support daily operations and resolve complex SPS issues. Search, analyze, and interpret information from automated equipment tracking systems to resolve issues, answer inquiries, and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with all VA and VHA regulations related to computer security, privacy, environmental management, and safety. Provide high-quality customer service, treating all patients, staff, and visitors with courtesy, tact, and respect while managing conflicts constructively. Protect printed and electronic sensitive data in accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 and VA policies. Work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends, as assigned by the Chief, Sterile Processing Service to meet operational needs. Work Schedule: Monday • Friday, 7:00 am • 3:30 pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility. Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: 1. Ability to read and interpret written procedures and select appropriate action in order to instruct staff in correct procedures and protocols for completing assignments. 2. Ability to communicate orally and in writing to ensure staff compliance with written directives, rules and regulations. 3. Skill in interpersonal relationships in dealing with employees, team leaders, and managers. 4. Knowledge of sterility principles in order to instruct staff on decontamination procedures. 5. Ability to lead individuals, manage priorities, and schedule work assignments. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria).
