Job Summary Job Summary General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze user needs and requirements, develop software specifications, and contribute to software development planning within the broader organizational and program context. Design, implement, integrate, test, document, and maintain software applications and components. Develop and execute software test plans, test procedures, and test cases in collaboration with stakeholders throughout the software development life cycle. Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, including issues associated with software and hardware integration. Debug, modify, and enhance existing software to support evolving requirements, technologies, and operational environments. Apply sound software engineering practices, including source control, code reviews, defect tracking, configuration management, and technical documentation. Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, hardware engineers, users, customers, and management to define requirements and deliver effective solutions. Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to planning for future software applications and capabilities. Communicate technical information clearly to software development teams, users, management, and other relevant stakeholders. Protect sensitive and proprietary information in accordance with company policies and applicable security requirements. Perform other duties as assigned or required. Job Qualifications Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in computer science, information systems or a related discipline and progressive software development experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. Must be customer focused, formulates plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced software development problems. Must have ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment. Demonstrated understanding of software development concepts, principles, and practices, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, testing, and documentation. Familiarity with operating systems RHEL and Windows. Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming. Strong familiarity with coding in C++, and Python Nice to Haves/Preferred Experience in Object-Oriented Design, Distributed Systems, and Service-Oriented Architectures. Knowledge of architecting and developing full stack software in an enterprise environment. Experience developing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Gitlab. Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as Docker and Virtual Machines. Familiarity with Kubernetes. Familiarity with JAMA, and git Familiarity with networking. Familiarity with Qt. Experience developing, integrating, testing, debugging, and maintaining software in a team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical documentation and present results to internal audiences. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work extended hours, when required, to support program and organizational objectives Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
