Systems Administrator (Windows Server, SAN, Backup and Recovery) for NATO with security clearance
WLG
This is the layer below the applications: hypervisors, storage networks, domain services, databases and the backups that make all of it survivable. The post covers provisioning and configuration, day-to-day operation, and the level one and one-plus tickets that come with running a data centre for a live headquarters. It suits a broad infrastructure engineer rather than a specialist — someone equally comfortable in vCenter, in Active Directory, in a SQL instance and on a SAN switch. What you would be doing Provision, install, configure and maintain infrastructure services and components. Monitor and report on infrastructure load, performance and security events. Support the hosted systems and clear alerts and error conditions across the server room, storage network and servers. Manage and operate the virtual infrastructure — VMware server and desktop virtualisation, SAN switches and integrated hardware. Maintain Windows core directory services and policies. Manage updates and patching for Windows and Linux systems. Administer the community databases and troubleshoot third-party application deployments. Administer the mail servers and help implement backup and recovery solutions. Coordinate daily work with the other technical units and service lines. Take on project work packages, and analyse and resolve assigned incident and problem tickets. What you would bring Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with three years of related experience, or a secondary qualification with five. Current, hands-on infrastructure and capacity management experience. Recent practical work with mainstream hypervisors and server virtualisation. Depth in Windows Server, Active Directory, DHCP, domain naming, group policy and desktop deployment. Administration experience on Windows and/or Linux, including single sign-on. Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database experience. Clustering, storage and backup systems, plus server-side scripting in PowerShell. Working knowledge of ITIL practice and clear written and spoken English. Useful but not essential: VMware certification, ITIL v4, and Microsoft administration certifications. The work is full time on site in Izmir. You will need to be eligible to work in Türkiye — either citizenship, or a valid work and residence permit. Very occasionally the role supports a second site about 35 km away, with transport provided.
