If you’re driven to solve meaningful challenges, we’d love to meet you.  Who We're Looking For  We're looking for a technically sharp, cross-functional Staff Product Manager to own how data flows, gets cataloged, and stays governed across TTD's platform. This is a high-impact role sitting at the intersection of internal data access, metadata infrastructure, and compliance, ensuring the right people can access the right data. You bring structure and clarity to complex, cross-functional data problems and know how to move engineering and business stakeholders toward the same page.  You're the right candidate if you:  Know what it takes to build a data catalog that engineers actually use and a schema registry that doesn't break downstream pipelines  Understand how GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and emerging privacy frameworks translate into concrete product requirements, not as an afterthought, but as a foundation  Have working knowledge of Unity Catalog and other catalog-based use cases to enable more efficient internal workflows  Think carefully about internal data entitlements, who should have access, under what conditions, and how that holds up against contractual and compliance obligations  What You'll Be Doing  Data Catalog & Governance  Own the product roadmap for schema evolution and versioning, ensuring backward and forward compatibility without breaking downstream applications or pipelines  Define requirements for drift detection tooling that monitors real-time schema changes across unstructured and semi-structured data inputs  Build the semantic mapping layer linking technical schema columns to business terms in a centralized data glossary, including classification of fields carrying privacy or regulatory sensitivity  Define requirements for column-level lineage tracking from source files through transformations to specific report elements  Own the strategy for tagging TTD's data assets to enable discoverability, access control, and downstream activation  Define the data asset taxonomy and classification framework, including tags for PII, sensitive data categories, consent scope, and regulatory jurisdiction, in partnership with engineering, data science, legal, and privacy teams  Drive platformization of TTD's data assets so they are consistently inventoried, annotated, and accessible across teams and environments, with privacy constraints embedded at the asset level  Internal Data Access & Entitlements  Own the product vision for how TTD employees and internal workflow developers access data assets in a way that is compliant with contractual obligations, data use agreements, and platform policy  Define access control requirements across internal tooling and data environments, ensuring entitlements are granular, auditable, and enforceable  Partner with Legal, Privacy, and Engineering to operationalize data use constraints into tooling rather than manual review processes  Identify and close gaps where internal data access outpaces governance coverage, working cross-functionally to bring those surfaces into compliance  Cross-Functional Leadership  Lead alignment across data engineering, data science, legal, privacy, security, and platform product teams on governance standards, tooling, and roadmap priorities  Translate complex data architecture and compliance decisions into clear narratives for senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders  Act as the internal authority on data cataloging, metadata best practices, and privacy operationalization across TTD's hybrid cloud and on-premises environments  What You Bring to the Table  6+ years of product management experience focused on data platforms, data governance, regulatory compliance, or closely related domains in a complex software or adtech environment  Hands-on working knowledge of modern data catalog and metadata management tools and what it takes to build or adopt them at scale  Deep understanding of schema management: versioning, evolution, drift detection, and semantic mapping between technical schemas and business glossaries  Strong working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, and emerging privacy frameworks, with demonstrated experience translating regulatory requirements into data product and infrastructure requirements  Technical fluency across data infrastructure: distributed data pipelines, event-driven systems, data modeling, API design, and access control models  Experience building products on or alongside Databricks (Unity Catalog, Delta Lake), Vertica, Snowflake, or equivalent large-scale data platforms, with comfort navigating tradeoffs across cloud and on-premises environments  Proven ability to drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, data science, legal, privacy, and business stakeholders in ambiguous, fast-moving environments  Exceptional communication skills: able to translate data infrastructure complexity and regulatory constraints into business narratives, and vice versa    The Trade Desk does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firm recruiters. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location.  All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as variable compensation-based incentives and commissions.
