The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in The Office of Protection Services with the Smithsonian Institution. The Office of Protection Services (OPS) is responsible for overseeing a large museum/complex law enforcement and security program, and leading and providing protection throughout the Smithsonian Institution (SI). The Human Resources Liaison (HRL) is responsible for developing, implementing, and/or managing personnel and HR functions. In this position, you will: GS-11/GS-12 Ensure that position descriptions are accurately classified in accordance with the applicable classification standards for the proposed series and grade, and that they reflect the correct pay plan, occupational series, official title, and grade level. Analyze Trust and Federal budgets, staffing, and workload data to provide guidance on staffing options, administrative support functions, and program operations. Serve as the OPS's subject matter expert on HR systems, utilizing Office 365, timekeeping, and personnel management systems to support operations and mission requirements. GS-11: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience providing technical assistance and support to employees and management on human resources programs and processes; assisting with staffing and recruitment activities; coding and processing personnel actions; and reviewing position descriptions for accuracy and compliance. Or Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related Special Instructions for Foreign Education: If you are qualifying by education and/or you have education completed in a foreign college/university described above, it is your responsibility to provide transcripts and proof of U.S. accreditation for foreign study. GS-12: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience providing technical assistance and advisory support to employees and management on human resources programs and processes; assisting with staffing and recruitment activities; coding and processing personnel actions; reviewing position descriptions for accuracy and compliance; and interpreting and guiding management on human resources policies, procedures, and guidance.
