We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated Commercial Outside Sales Representative to help expand and strengthen our position in the Nashville commercial construction market. This individual will be responsible for developing new business, growing existing relationships, and positioning Service Partners as a trusted resource for contractors, builders, distributors, architects, general contractors, and other commercial construction professionals. This is an opportunity for a sales professional who understands that winning in the commercial market requires more than selling a product. We are looking for someone who can sell value, develop relationships, understand building systems, identify opportunities, and bring solutions to the customer. Position Overview The Commercial Outside Sales Representative will have responsibility for growing Service Partners’ presence across the entire commercial construction segment in the Nashville market and surrounding territory. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of commercial sales success and a strong understanding of the construction industry. This person should be comfortable calling on multiple levels of an organization, developing relationships from the field to the executive level, and creating opportunities where Service Partners can provide value through product knowledge, technical expertise, availability, service, and complete system solutions. The primary objective is to increase market share and enhance Service Partners’ position as a preferred commercial supplier. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive commercial sales strategy for the Nashville market. Identify, pursue, and secure new commercial business across multiple construction verticals. Grow existing commercial accounts while continuously identifying opportunities to expand product categories and wallet share. Build strong relationships with: Commercial insulation contractors General contractors Specialty contractors Builders and developers Architects and engineers Project managers and estimators Building owners and facility professionals Other key commercial construction stakeholders Sell across a broad portfolio of products and solutions, including:
• Fiberglass insulation
• ROCKWOOL / Thermafiber mineral products
• Ceiling tile & grid
• Firestopping
• Rigid board and other board products (EPS, XPS, ISO)
• Spray foam insulation
• Metal studs
• Other complementary commercial building products Lead with value and systems selling, helping customers understand the complete solution rather than focusing solely on individual product price. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of commercial projects from specification through installation. Identify projects early and influence product selection, specifications, and purchasing decisions. Work collaboratively with contractors, manufacturers, internal teams, and other stakeholders to develop project-specific solutions. Leverage technical product knowledge and manufacturer relationships to differentiate Service Partners from competitors. Monitor competitive activity, market conditions, pricing, product availability, and emerging opportunities. Convert competitive accounts and take market share from incumbent suppliers. Conduct regular customer and prospect visits throughout the territory. Participate in commercial job walks, project meetings, contractor meetings, lunch-and-learns, and industry events. Maintain accurate and timely customer, opportunity, activity, and project information within the company’s CRM platform. Manage the sales pipeline and consistently move opportunities through the sales process. Forecast business accurately and communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to leadership. Partner with branch teams and internal resources to ensure an exceptional customer experience from opportunity through fulfillment. Represent Service Partners professionally and establish the company as a trusted commercial partner and solutions provider. What We’re Looking For The successful candidate will be a commercial sales professional, not simply a transactional salesperson. Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional business experience. Prior commercial construction sales experience is required. Proven track record of developing new business and growing existing accounts. Strong understanding of the commercial construction industry and project lifecycle. Demonstrated ability to sell through relationships, value, and solutions rather than price alone. Experience selling to contractors, general contractors, builders, architects, engineers, or other commercial construction professionals. Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Comfortable operating independently and managing a large geographic territory. Strong business acumen and ability to understand customer needs and develop profitable solutions. Comfortable using a CRM platform to manage accounts, activities, opportunities, projects, and sales pipeline. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30–60% overnight, depending on business needs. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory. Preferred Qualifications Experience selling insulation, mineral wool, firestopping, board products, or other commercial building products. Existing relationships with commercial insulation contractors and/or general contractors in the Nashville market. Experience with specification selling or influencing projects before the purchasing stage. Understanding of commercial building codes, energy requirements, fire-rated assemblies, acoustical systems, and building-envelope applications. Experience working with manufacturers, architects, engineers, and design professionals. Proven success taking business from competitive suppliers and expanding market share.
