# Tax Accountant - CPA License Required

CPA TAX PREPARER | HELENA, MT OR TOWNSEND, MT | IN-OFFICE | $80K–$90K Position Overview Our client is a professional business management and accounting firm serving approximately 800 individual and small business clients . They are seeking an experienced CPA Tax Preparer to prepare individual and business tax returns, work directly with clients, and support tax planning and accounting services. This is a full-time, permanent, in-office position with a flexible schedule —employees can set their own hours as long as client needs and tax deadlines are met. What You’ll Do Prepare 200+ individual and business tax returns annually Prepare federal and state tax forms and ensure accurate, timely filings Work directly with clients to gather financial information and answer tax questions Conduct tax planning meetings and assist with business tax strategies Support clients with IRS and state tax matters; audit representation experience is preferred Perform bookkeeping and general accounting duties as needed Prepare financial information and reports to support business planning Use QuickBooks Online for bookkeeping and accounting Use Drake Tax for tax preparation Maintain organized client records and stay current on tax laws and filing requirements What You’ll Bring Active CPA license required 3–5 years of professional tax preparation experience Experience preparing 200+ tax returns Strong experience with individual and business tax returns Experience with a wide range of federal and state tax forms Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations QuickBooks Online experience required Drake Tax experience preferred; strong tax preparation candidates can be trained Audit representation experience preferred Background in accounting, bookkeeping, tax planning, or business management Strong attention to detail, organization, and client communication skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and accounting software Compensation & Benefits $80K–$90K annualized compensation, depending on experience and qualifications Full-time, permanent position No bonus structure Flexible schedule with the ability to set your own hours Paid holidays and PTO Fringe benefits AFLAC insurance 401(k) with 4% company match WHY JOIN?
