We are looking for a skilled developer to support SUSE's efforts around distributed Cloud and Enterprise Storage. In this role, you be part of a distributed team creating a Storage solution based on the Open-Source Ceph technologies. General tasks: Your primary objective will be to help with the integration of our distributed storage solution with existing products, and to Help create and maintain web based management utilities Self-directed software design, development, and debugging Represent SUSE professionally in Open Source communities Expected skills: 5+ years of experience in software development, specifically on Linux and Open Source Excellent programming skills in Ruby, Ruby-on-rails, shell, python, REST APIs Proven practical experience with Linux system management and monitoring Self-motivated and experienced with working on complex software products Focus on testability in all aspects of software design and implementation Distributed version control (git, github) and Open Source workflows Eagerness to grow professionally and work on Open Source community projects Fluency in English, both written and spoken Desired skills: Experience with RADOS and Ceph 5+ years of experience Experience with agile development methodologies Experience with working in distributed teams About SUSE SUSE®, a pioneer in open source software, provides reliable, interoperable Linux and cloud infrastructure solutions that give enterprises greater control and flexibility.
