WHO IS FINANCE AND MANAGEMENT (F&M)? F&M supports the administrative, financial, and managerial programs of the Office of Chief Counsel and provides advice to the Chief Counsel and Deputy Chief Counsel on all management matters for the organization nationwide. F&M also has field responsibility for all administrative functions and personnel across the country. The Department of the Treasury's Recent Graduates Program affords developmental experiences in the Federal Government intended to promote possible careers in the civil service to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic, developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government. Following the completion of program requirements, selectees may be considered for non-competitive conversion to a career-conditional or term appointment. All conversion requirements will be identified in the Participant Agreement. Program requirements include but are not limited to: Successful completion of at least 1-year of continuous service; Completion of at least 40 hours of interactive training; Demonstration of successful job performance; and Meet the qualification standards for the position to which the Recent Graduate may be converted. For additional information regarding the Pathways Program, please refer to the following website: www.usajobs.gov/StudentsAndGrads The following are the duties of the Operations Coordinator (Pathways Recent Graduates) at the GS-09. You will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this developmental position. Serve as the focal point for coordinating and administratively handling more complex or unique calls and/or correspondence concerning the legal support work provided to the different functional areas. Monitor workflows through the office and the staff's efficiency in achieving their work goals, perform analysis, and recommend viable solutions such as workload redistribution and revised work processes and procedures to resolve problems of a procedural nature. Monitor the work of the legal assistants in the office to serve, as needed, as a back-up so that information is being properly inputted into office related systems and that reports are correctly and timely generated and distributed. Coordinate the overall mail operation of the Office. Review incoming mail and, as appropriate, establish administrative controls on certain items.
To be eligible for the Recent Graduates Program, applicants must have, within the previous two years , completed all educational requirements for a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying institution; For more information on education requirements go to Treasury's Pathways Program. Veterans who, due to a military service obligation, were precluded from applying to a Recent Graduates Program during any portion of the two-year eligibility period may have their eligibility period extended so that they receive the full 2 years of eligibility. The remaining two-year eligibility period will begin upon his or her release or discharge from active duty. The veteran's eligibility period may not extend beyond six years from the date of completion of all requirements of an academic course of study. In order to qualify for the Operations Coordinator position at the GS-09 level, you must meet the following requirements: Education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify for the GS-09 level, you must meet the following requirements by the closing of this announcement: A. Education: In the Recent Graduates Program you may qualify based solely on education as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. if related. OR B. Specialized Experience: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as: Providing and coordinating a variety of legal support and administrative duties; Using database systems and file management, and Providing technical advice and guidance to a team of support staff. OR C. You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. If you are qualifying based on foreign education, you must submit proof of creditability of education as evaluated by a credentialing agency.
