Sr. Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer Overview A growing financial technology organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a team responsible for mission-critical transaction and trading systems. This role will focus on designing, developing, and enhancing highly available software platforms that support complex business processes in a fast-paced financial environment. The ideal candidate is a proven engineer who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, building scalable systems, and supporting business-critical applications. Responsibilities Design and develop backend services using Java Build and maintain REST and gRPC APIs Support high-performance transaction-processing systems Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to design scalable solutions Contribute across the full software development lifecycle Participate in architecture, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance efforts Improve reliability, scalability, and performance of existing systems Support integration and data-processing workflows Required Qualifications 8+ years of software engineering experience Strong Java development experience Experience building backend APIs and distributed systems Strong SQL/database skills Experience delivering production-grade software Strong problem-solving and communication skills Ability to operate in business-critical environments Preferred Qualifications Financial services or fintech experience Asset management experience Trading platform experience Order management systems TypeScript OCI, AWS, or Azure Experience supporting transaction-intensive applications Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $140,000 • 150,000 annually Bonus: Eligible to earn a ~5% bonus Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage Work Environment Hybrid onsite model Oak Brook, Illinois Collaborative engineering culture High-impact business-critical technology environment LaSalle Network is an Equal Opportunity Employer m/f/d/v.
