Role Overview: The Registered Nurse (RN) in Acute Care Orthopedic Surgery provides high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care within a collaborative interdisciplinary team. They practice evidence-based nursing, utilizing critical thinking and individualized care planning to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—tailored to each patient’s needs. Deliver relationship-based, culturally sensitive care that involves patients and their families, ensuring effective communication and shared decision-making. Coordinate safe, efficient care through interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and promoting a respectful environment. Support performance improvement initiatives, participate in research, and uphold organizational policies and safety standards. Serve as a preceptor or mentor, fostering professional development and a healthy work environment. Contribute to evidence-based practice, clinical research, and resource development to improve patient outcomes. Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 2 years of direct patient care nursing experience. Current RN license (single-state or multi-state Compact) and BLS certification. Associate’s or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, and critical thinking skills. Proficient in clinical technologies and documentation processes.
