Big River Forest Products is seeking a Sales Representative that is a highly motivated self-starter that delivers the highest level of customer service. This position will be full-time on-site in the sales office located in Jackson, MS
• Sawmills are located in Vicksburg, MS and Gloster, MS (not required to be on-site at the sawmills) Reporting to the Manager of Lumber Sales, the Sales Representative will work in a collaborative team environment with the objective of maximizing overall sales returns that align with the strategic plan of the sales department. This position requires exceptional attention to detail and customer focus. Job Description: Develop relationships and understand needs with an established customer base Prospect and call on potential new customers to grow business across all regions and segments, including retail, construction, packaging and wholesale Collaborate with sawmill staff to sell upcoming production Implement sales strategies that maximize margins Maintain consistent understanding of changing market conditions Field incoming inquiries regarding availability and pricing of lumber Attend customer meetings and trade shows Identify growth opportunities and develop sales initiatives to expand account growth Required Skills: Maintain high degree of honesty and integrity Analytical skills to strategize, plan, execute and report Self-motivated and competitive team player that has ambition to excel Operate with urgency and flexibility to work until the job is complete Ability to work in an open environment and collaborate effectively Well-developed sales and customer service skills Ability to turn RFQs into quotes in an efficient manner Desired Skills: Preferred: Background in the North American lumber market or commodity sales, but not required Bachelor’s degree and/or five years of sales experience Knowledge of the lumber manufacturing process, but not required Advanced training in leadership, negotiations, or management Experience in industry specific computer sales and inventory software platforms (LumberTrack, Tallyworks, Tamarack etc.) Compensation package and outstanding benefits include: Competitive base salary with potential for annual bonus + gainshare opportunities On-the-job training Medical Dental Vision 401k with company match Life Insurance Disability Insurance Paid vacations and holidays
