Director, Global Strategic Operations & Execution

Nscale

About Nscale Nscale is the vertically integrated AI cloud engineered for AI. We own and operate the full stack — energy, data centres, GPU superclusters, orchestration, and AI services — delivering high-performance infrastructure to AI-native companies, enterprises, and governments across Europe and the US. We are deploying GPU capacity at hyperscale, operating some of the densest, most advanced AI infrastructure in the world. At Nscale, our Business Operations team builds the operational backbone that allows us to execute with speed, clarity, and consistency across every site, region, and market we enter. We thrive on a culture of relentless innovation, ownership, and accountability, where every team member takes pride in their work and drives it with excellence and urgency. As an Nscaler, you'll build trust through openness and transparency, where everyone is inspired to do their best work. If you join our team, you'll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future. About the Role The Director, Global Strategic Operations & Execution owns strategic execution, operating policy, process optimisation, and enablement across Nscale's global Business Operations organisation. You'll build a Centre of Excellence that designs and delivers the frameworks, policies, processes, partner solutions, and shared infrastructure that country and regional operations teams adopt and run locally. The principle is simple: build once, leverage everywhere. What works in one region should work in the next, or be deliberately adapted for it. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, business operations, vendor and partner management, and technical programme management, carrying the commercial, financial, and operational agenda with the same fluency as the technical delivery programmes it depends on. You'll represent Business Operations to Finance, Legal, People & Talent, Supply Chain, Construction, and executive leadership, acting as an extension of Business Operations leadership and driving decisions to closure. This is a high-visibility, high-autonomy role reporting into senior Business Operations leadership. You will: • Build operational assets that scale: frameworks, playbooks, and policies that regional teams actually adopt, not just receive.- Turn leadership priorities into structured, trackable initiatives with clear ownership and measurable outcomes.- Influence without authority across Finance, Legal, People & Talent, and technical teams, translating credibly between commercial and technical delivery.- Act with delegated authority on behalf of Business Operations leadership, with clear judgment about where that latitude ends and escalation begins.- Bring genuine range across strategy, execution, analysis, enablement, and relationship-building. Experience required: 10+ years in strategic operations, business operations, technical programme management, or a comparable senior cross-organisational role, including meaningful time operating globally or across multiple regions. What You'll be Doing • Design, deploy, and maintain the frameworks, playbooks, policies, and standards that regional teams adopt and run locally, so every new site inherits a proven way of working rather than inventing its own.- Build and maintain shared infrastructure for global teams, including systems of record, templates, intake and prioritisation mechanisms, reporting structures, and a single source of truth for initiative status.- Decide what is standardised globally and what stays locally flexible, weighing the leverage of consistency against genuine regulatory, commercial, and cultural differences between regions.- Drive adoption, not just design. An asset is only delivered once teams are trained, actively using it, and it has been refined with their feedback.- Lead operational readiness for new sites, regions, and markets alongside Construction, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, and People & Talent, so the operational foundation is in place ahead of day one.- Translate leadership priorities into structured initiatives with clear ownership, timelines, dependencies, and KPIs, and keep commercial and operational workstreams aligned to the technical delivery programmes they depend on.- Establish and run the governance forums, operating cadence, RACI, decision logs, and escalation paths for global initiatives, giving executives clear visibility into status, risk, and dependencies across every region and time zone.- Stress-test plans to surface risk early, consolidate parallel regional efforts into coordinated global solutions, and close gaps in cross-organisational alignment before they become issues.- Map how work actually flows today, remove friction, redundancy, and manual effort, and redesign processes so they scale with growth rather than break.- Make continuous improvement a discipline: baseline cycle times, handoffs, and failure points, then drive measurable improvement with data.- Identify where tooling, automation, or systems investment removes manual work, and partner with technical and reporting teams from requirements through to adoption.- Run structured reviews after major initiatives and operational breakdowns, turning lessons learned into permanent process and framework changes.- Develop and maintain global operating policies with Legal, Finance, and People & Talent that meet jurisdictional and compliance requirements.- Shape the global vendor and partner portfolio with the Vendor & Partner Management team, deciding what is contracted globally versus regionally so local teams can leverage global agreements.- Manage the flow of information to Business Operations leadership, packaging decisions with clear options, cross-functional input, and a recommendation so decisions are made once, with full information.- Own leadership forums end to end, from agendas and pre-reads to running the room and holding owners to their actions, and run the function's annual and quarterly planning cycles alongside Finance and People & Talent.- Prepare executive-ready reporting and materials for C-suite, board, investor, and senior partner engagements, then carry decisions outward so leadership direction lands intact across every region.- Flex across the organisation's highest-priority initiatives as they evolve, wherever in the world they sit. About You • Experience. 10+ years in strategic operations, business operations, technical programme management, or a comparable senior cross-organisational role, including meaningful time operating globally or across multiple regions.- Global operating models. A track record of building and scaling frameworks, standards, or operating models that were adopted across multiple regions, not just designed centrally.- Process optimisation. Proven experience mapping, redesigning, and measurably improving how work gets done at scale.- Executive partnership. Direct experience operating as an extension of a senior executive or leadership team: owning their operating rhythm, representing their position in their absence, exercising delegated authority, and handling confidential information with absolute discretion.- Cross-functional influence. Experience driving complex, multi-stakeholder, multi-region initiatives from strategy through execution, and influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority across Finance, Legal, People & Talent, and other functions.- Technical fluency. Comfortable enough with technical delivery to be credible with engineering and infrastructure teams.- Judgment. Sound instincts on what should be standardised globally versus locally, with cultural fluency across regions and time zones.- Communication. Excellent written and verbal communication, including direct experience preparing materials for executive audiences.- Range and resilience. Broad, adaptable capability paired with a competitive, resilient drive and creative problem-solving. You match whatever the highest-priority need is and can turn strained relationships around under pressure.- Autonomy. Comfortable operating with high autonomy across concurrent priorities in a high-growth environment.- Flexibility. Willing to travel internationally and flex hours to support global coverage. Nice to Have • Infrastructure experience. Background in infrastructure, data centres, or cloud environments.- Process improvement methodology. Formal grounding in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar, though demonstrated results matter more to us than certification.- Multi-jurisdiction governance. Experience developing policy or governance frameworks that hold across jurisdictions, with familiarity with how regulatory, data residency, labour, and procurement requirements differ across Europe and North America.- Vendor and sourcing strategy. Global or multi-region vendor portfolio development, sourcing strategy, or procurement operations experience.- Building from zero. Experience standing up a new function, region, or operating model from scratch.- Data-driven decision-making. Experience partnering with reporting and BI teams so decisions rest on shared, accurate data.
