Production Supervisor — Tablets & Capsules

Position Summary The Pharmacy Hub is looking for a Production Supervisor to lead the daily execution of our tablet and capsule compounding operations. This is a hands-on, floor-based leadership role — most of your day will be spent on the production floor, making sure the team is executing correctly, meeting the production plan, using the right equipment and tooling, and maintaining both productivity and quality standards. Beyond daily execution, you will actively monitor performance and look for opportunities to improve capacity, efficiency, workflow, and to reduce waste and rework. You will also schedule and train technicians, and partner with Production Management and QA/QC — all while upholding the quality, safety, and compliance standards of a regulated 503A compounding environment. This position reports directly to the Tablets & Capsules Manager. Core Responsibilities Floor Supervision & Production Execution (~50%) Provide direct, daily oversight of tablet and capsule production technicians and daily production activities, maintaining a strong, visible presence on the production floor Ensure the team executes correctly and meets the production plan Verify formulas, equipment and tooling readiness, tablet/capsule specifications, and batch records before and during production Monitor production flow and ensure adherence to approved SOPs, work instructions, and established procedures Maintain productivity and quality standards, identifying and correcting operational issues before they result in rework, waste, batch rejection, or delays Workforce Planning & Scheduling (~15%) Assign technicians daily and balance resources based on workload and production priorities Monitor production progress throughout the shift and adjust assignments as needed Ensure adequate shift coverage KPIs & Continuous Improvement (~15%) Monitor productivity and efficiency against production KPIs Identify opportunities to improve capacity, efficiency, and workflow, and to reduce rework and waste Review technician performance Work with the Tablets & Capsules Manager on process, standardization, and workflow improvements Training & Team Development (~10%) Train new production staff on formulas, SOPs, batch records, equipment setup, tooling, and production procedures Coach and support existing technicians to improve technical skills, performance, and compliance with production procedures Quality & Escalation (~10%) Identify and escalate quality, equipment, tooling, material, or process issues Coordinate with Production Management and QA/QC as needed to resolve issues Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, compounding, nutraceutical, or other regulated manufacturing Demonstrated experience supervising, coaching, and developing production personnel on the production floor Proven ability to train new staff, including onboarding new technicians on SOPs, equipment, and production procedures Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and people-management skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple production priorities Preferred Tablet and/or capsule manufacturing experience Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Production Lead, or similar role (strongly preferred) Knowledge of tablet compression, capsule manufacturing, equipment setup, tooling, production documentation, and process controls Experience working with production KPIs, efficiency, rework, waste, capacity, and continuous improvement Core Competencies Visible, hands-on leader — leads from the production floor, not from behind a desk Execution-focused — keeps the team on the production plan without compromising quality Detail-oriented — checks formulas, tooling, specs, and batch records before problems reach the product Improvement-minded — looks beyond today's tasks to find ways to raise capacity and efficiency and cut waste and rework Accountable and fair — sets clear expectations and holds the team to them consistently Effective trainer and coach — gets new staff up to speed quickly and builds technicians' skills and confidence Data-driven — uses KPIs to understand performance and drive improvement Clear communicator — escalates promptly and works well with Production Management and QA/QC Calm under pressure when managing competing production priorities Work Environment This is a full-time, on-site role based at The Pharmacy Hub's Miami Gardens, Florida location, with a planned future move to our Davie, Florida location. The role works primarily on the tablet and capsule compounding production floor in a regulated 503A pharmacy environment, handling APIs and excipients using appropriate personal protective equipment, and working closely with production technicians, Production Management, and QA/QC.
