Software Engineer

3PL Systems, Inc. is growing! We are looking for a highly skilled senior software engineer to join our team. You will help build and extend Brokerware , our enterprise, multi-tenant SaaS TMS (transportation management system) used by freight brokers and 3PLs to quote, book, track, and bill freight. This is a hands-on engineering role on a small team where your work ships to real customers quickly — not a siloed ticket queue. You will own larger pieces of the product, raise the bar on design and code quality, and help other engineers grow. Qualifications • Strong experience with .NET / .NET Core (C#) • Strong experience with Angular 15 or greater (component architecture, services, RxJS observables) • Strong experience designing, building, and consuming Web API / REST endpoints • Strong Microsoft SQL Server experience, including writing and tuning queries • Solid TypeScript skills • Experience with an ORM such as Entity Framework Core • Comfortable with Git-based source control and pull request workflows • Proven experience writing and maintaining unit tests, and helping a team do the same • Ability to take ambiguous problems and turn them into a clear technical approach • Works well in a team environment and can mentor other engineers • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Nice to have • Azure experience (App Service, Storage, Service Bus, Application Insights) • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS applications • Logistics, freight, supply chain, or EDI domain experience • Experience working in a large, long-lived codebase, including framework and dependency upgrades • Performance troubleshooting on large relational datasets • Experience leading technical design discussions and reviewing architecture trade-offs Education / experience • 5+ years of professional experience with C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, and Web API • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience • Must be authorized to work in the United States (verification required) Duties • Design, build, and ship new features in Brokerware across the Angular front end and the .NET API • Own end-to-end delivery of larger features, including design, implementation, tests, and follow-through • Diagnose and fix complex defects in existing application and worker-service code • Write unit tests for new business logic and help extend our automated test coverage • Lead code reviews and give constructive, high-signal feedback to teammates • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, design feedback, and documentation • Work with support, QA, and product to turn customer needs into workable technical solutions • Contribute in an Agile environment: sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives Other duties This posting is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of job duties and responsibilities.
