Supervisory General Supply Specialist

Serves as Accountable Officer (AO) responsible for the DLA Distribution Inventory Accuracy Program (wholesale and retail materiel), covering global first-destination and in-transit accountability. Coordinates with other AOs, Distribution Centers, Inventory Control Points (ICPs), maintenance sites, and vendors to reconcile complex accountability issues and bring financial records into balance. Provides oversight of DoD/DLA inventory policies; performs studies and system reviews to improve physical balance record accuracy. Develops Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs); tracks sample, wall-to-wall, special, and customer-requested inventories to meet performance goals. Develops/submits mandatory reports (including Monthly Inventory Management Report (MIMR); reviews/approves causative research vouchers; establishes and monitors the Inventory Quality Control Program. Serves as Distribution Center coordinator/Point of Contact (POC) for internal and external audits and provides input/oversight for contract Statements of Work (SOWs) and transitions. Supervises a team (plans/assigns work, sets priorities, evaluates performance, provides training/counsel, and resolves complaints). To qualify for a Supervisory General Supply Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: • Serves as the Accountable Officer (AO), ensuring administration of both wholesale and retail Inventory Accuracy Program • Establishes, monitors and reports on the Inventory Quality Control Program to include development, tracking and reporting on progress of Inventory Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) • Ensures the accountable and financial records are brought into balance B. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
