This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about helping students develop strong mathematical foundations, build confidence, and become independent learners. The school provides a structured, supportive environment where teachers work collaboratively to ensure students are challenged academically and supported socially and emotionally. About the Role The 5th Grade Math Teacher will be responsible for creating an engaging and rigorous mathematics classroom while supporting students as they transition into more advanced mathematical concepts. Key responsibilities include: Teach 5th Grade Mathematics in accordance with the school's curriculum and academic standards. Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated math lessons. Establish a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment. Use student data and assessment results to identify learning needs and adjust instruction. Provide targeted support and intervention for students who require additional academic assistance. Challenge students who are ready for advanced material. Develop students' problem-solving, reasoning, and mathematical communication skills. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic records. Collaborate with grade-level colleagues, instructional leaders, and support staff. Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress. Participate in professional development and the broader school community. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will: Be passionate about teaching mathematics and working with upper-elementary students. Have strong classroom management and organizational skills. Create a classroom culture that is rigorous, supportive, and engaging. Use data to inform instruction and respond to individual student needs. Be collaborative and receptive to feedback. Have high expectations for all students. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. New York State teaching certification or eligibility preferred. Previous elementary or middle school mathematics teaching experience preferred.
