Position Title: Senior Accountant  A growing financial services firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, investment portfolio accounting, and cash management for a diverse portfolio of client investment entities. This role will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing month-end and quarter-end close activities, reconciling accounts, validating transactions, and supporting budgeting and financial projections while identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of accounting experience, strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills, and advanced Excel proficiency, including macros. Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000 / annually, DOE Responsibilities Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly financial statements for managed investment entities and clients Manage month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting Support investment portfolio and bond accounting activities, including trade validation and cash management Investigate discrepancies, resolve reconciling items, and ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and 12-month rolling projections Utilize advanced Excel functions, macros, and automation tools to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency Collaborate with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to streamline processes, support special projects, and respond to client accounting inquiries Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent relevant professional experience 3+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, fund accounting, public accounting, client accounting, or bond accounting Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, journal entries, and account reconciliations Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including macros and the ability to leverage AI-assisted automation tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail Ability to independently investigate discrepancies, manage recurring deadlines, and maintain accuracy during busy reporting periods Experience with bond accounting, fund accounting, or Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Claude for process improvement is a plus Proactive, dependable, and collaborative approach with strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement Benefits Annual performance-based bonus opportunity Hybrid work schedule with three days in the office and two days remote following initial onboarding Comprehensive medical and dental insurance with generous employer contributions 401(k) retirement plan with a dollar-for-dollar employer match and immediate vesting 14 days of PTO annually during the first two years, increasing with tenure Paid company holidays Medical leave benefits with partial salary continuation Flexible scheduling within standard business hours Stable, privately held organization with a collaborative culture, long employee tenure, and opportunities for professional development Join a respected financial services organization where your accounting expertise, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy will make a meaningful impact.
