# Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support complex operational accounting activities in a collaborative, highly regulated environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and self-directed, with strong judgment, communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities while partnering effectively across teams. This role is on-site in Houston, Texas. Senior Accountant Responsibilities Prepare project-related journal entries and ensure accurate accounting treatment in accordance with US GAAP and revenue recognition standards. Analyze project costs, revenue activity, and financial results to identify trends, discrepancies, and accounting impacts. Complete general ledger and subsystem reconciliations and maintain accurate supporting documentation. Execute key internal controls and support financial statement, internal, and other compliance-related audits. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve accounting matters and drive improvements to accounting, reporting, and control processes. Senior Accountant Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline and 5+ years of accounting experience. Working knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, cost accounting principles, and SOX-controlled environments. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. CPA or CMA designation, advanced degree, and experience with enterprise accounting or financial planning systems are preferred.
