Director of Emergency Services

Seeking a high energy Director of Emergency Services! This 224-bed hospital boasts Accredited Chest Pain and Heart Failure Centers as well as being a Primary Stroke Center and having an ACS Cancer program. Reporting to the CNO, this individual assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing and managing the department and staff to assure quality service on a 24 hour basis in this very busy 31-bed ED. Responsibilities: • Consistently aware of individual patient conditions and unit acuity levels in 31bed ED with a 6-bed Fast Track-Oversee Departmental/ Hospital process improvement activity, including timely collection of data, analysis, recommendations for improvement and evaluation of actions taken • Communicate regularly with Supervisor/ Chief Nursing Officer to gather data, provide consideration, insure consistency in implementation of policies and procedures • Direct and guide personnel during emergencies-Effectively demonstrate communication and problem solving skills with peers, subordinates and superiors and fosters teamwork-Maintains overall accountability/responsibility for staffing the unit during all hours of operation-Manage approximately 50 FTE’s-Understands the process of change and takes the initiative in planning and implementing change-Maintains appropriate staffing levels within budgeted hours-Monitor annual budget-Ensure department compliance with JCAHO and all applicable agencies (local, state and federal) Must have Active FL RN License • BSN, MSN preferred-3+ years experience as an ER Nurse • 2+ years of Manager experience in a similar sized acute care facility-Must have current BLS, ACLS certifications, PALS within a year-Emergency Nurses Association membership preferred All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
