# Staff Accountant

Security National Financial Corporation

Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts. Prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assist with monthly close processes. Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections. Maintain documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury and conduct internal audits. Verify and/or complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Meet processing and reporting deadlines. Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with audits. Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations Assist the accounting manager as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or 5 years experience required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus. Strong numeracy and analytical skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 15 lbs. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods at a desk, while working on a computer Salary Description $58,000/year
