Role Description This is a full-time Accountant role based in Sacramento, CA with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing for both in-office and some work-from-home flexibility. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting schedules. Responsibilities include assisting with audits and reviews, supporting tax preparation and compliance, and ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards and firm policies. The role involves analyzing financial data, identifying variances, and preparing clear documentation for internal teams and clients. The Accountant will collaborate with colleagues and clients to address accounting issues, respond to information requests, and contribute to process improvements and accurate, timely reporting. Qualifications Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation. Proficiency with accounting software and productivity tools (e.g., QuickBooks or similar platforms, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications). Experience in audit or tax compliance, including support for workpapers, documentation, and client deliverables. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies or trends. Effective written and verbal communication skills for interaction with clients, colleagues, and management. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a professional services environment. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting, demonstrating reliability and accountability. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA license or progress toward certification is preferred. Previous public accounting or professional services experience is beneficial, particularly in audit, tax, or consulting engagements.
