Clinical Data Analyst

Job Requirements I. The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. These are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified. Produces dashboards and reports to support hospital performance improvement efforts. Analyzes clinical process and outcome data and transforms it into meaningful and useful information for business owners utilizing Business Intelligence technologies Performs basic statistical analyses for projects and reports. Acquires and abstracts primary or secondary data from existing internal or external data sources (internal or national databases). Develops and implements data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality. When quality opportunities are identified, conducts research on benchmarking to determine the best course of action to correct and validate comparison quality data. Analyzes and problem solves issues with current and planned computer systems as they relate to the integration and management of quality data. Develops and maintains databases, and data systems necessary for quality reporting. (ie. Excel, Access, Power BI, Tableau). Lead data projects to include determining need for data, obtaining data through report writing, dashboard design and development and execution of regular distributions. Report and explain data in order to educate end-users and stake-holders on their outcomes and foster discussions on what additional data would improve projects. Educates, trains and mentors Clinical Data Analyst(s) on data and programs utilized. Acts a super-user for data programs utilized within the department and educates/trains those in other departments with an interest in learning about data. Knowledgeable about Federal and local reimbursement programs Reporting of data to external agencies. Proficient in electronic health records currently used to include but not limited to Midas and Epic. Review, analyze and validate all data received to ensure accuracy and validity. Work Experience Bachelor's in Information Management, Healthcare Information, Computing, Mathematics, Statistics, or related equivalent field is required. Five (5) years of experience in data analysis is required. Two (2) years of experience managing healthcare databases. Relevant experience in training individuals in software applications.
