Delivery Driver – Building Materials (chauffeur's license)Position Overview The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely delivering building materials to customer jobsites while providing exceptional customer service. Our drivers play an important role in supporting builder customers, ensuring materials arrive accurately, on time, and are handled with care. This is a hands-on position that combines driving, material handling, and teamwork in an active lumber yard and construction environment. Areas of Responsibility Deliveries & Customer Service Safely transport and unload building materials at customer jobsites Coordinate with dispatch to complete accurate, timely deliveries Provide professional, courteous service and communicate customer needs or delivery issues Complete required vehicle inspections and delivery documentation Safety & Material Handling Properly load, secure, and protect materials during transport Follow DOT regulations and company safety procedures Safely operate delivery vehicles, forklifts, and truck-mounted forklifts (Moffetts) as trained Maintain vehicles and equipment in clean, safe working condition Yard Operations & Teamwork Assist with preparing, checking, and loading delivery orders Help unload incoming materials and serve customers picking up orders Support yard operations and maintain organized inventory storage Work collaboratively with dispatch, yard, and sales teams General Responsibilities Demonstrate Preston Feather core values in all interactions Maintain professional conduct and appearance Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills and Abilities Valid driver's license and appropriate chauffers or CDL for assigned vehicles Safe driving record and commitment to safe work practices Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork skills Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail Ability to perform physical work and operate equipment safely Experience with building materials or Moffett equipment is a plus Physical Requirements Sitting and driving for extended periods Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting Ability to safely handle building materials and operate delivery equipment Working Conditions Combination of driving, lumber yard work, and active construction sites Regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check (including MVR) and drug screen.
