CYS Assistant Facility Director NF-04

This Part-Time position is located at Hillside Child Development Center at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Morale Welfare & Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours) First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees) For incentive information, please see additional information section. Serves as a first level supervisor for assigned staff and assists the Director in the supervision of the day-to-day operation of the program/activity. The incumbent reports and works directly with the Director with minimum supervision. Assists with providing program oversight and accountability for the performance of employees, the safety of children, and customer needs. Supervises staff to include assigning work, conducting performance reviews, and approving leave. Establishes local performance standards for employees and volunteers using established standards and requirements and rates employees' performance. Ensures facility complies with health, fire, safety, USDA, and program regulatory guidance and standards. Observes program participants and identifies signs of illness, abuse or neglect, emotional distress, and follows mandated reporting protocols. In conjunction with the Director ensures compliance with standards, criteria, and laws to obtain and retain DoD certification and national accreditation. Assists with taking action to implement recommendations or correct deficiencies. Resumes must be two pages (or less). A qualified candidate must possess the following: Education: Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary or secondary education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position. • For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science. OR one of the following: Combination of education and experience as stated below in Option 1 & 2: Option 1: A combination of education and experience: Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: 1. 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 6 months must be in a supervisory position. 2. The McCormick Credential. OR Option 2: A combination of education and experience: Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following: 1. At least 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 12 months must be in a supervisory position. Proof of education is required at the time of application. Note: Education must be directly related to the position to be filled. General Education courses do not count toward the credit total. Please provide relevant transcripts to support your eligibility for the position. Note: Education must be directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology/counseling courses are not qualifying). To be considered, transcripts must be in English, must be legible, and must reflect the name of the school as well as the name of the applicant. FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
