Diesel Mechanic

Louisville, KY $1,500 Sign-On Bonus Suburban Towing, a Division of Guardian Fleet Services Guardian Fleet Services is looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Louisville, KY. In this role, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of fleet vehicles, including tow trucks and wreckers powered by both diesel and gasoline engines. If you enjoy solving mechanical problems, working with your hands, and keeping vehicles operating safely and efficiently, we'd like to hear from you. What You'll Do Diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and equipment Inspect and replace components such as engines, transmissions, steering systems, and brakes Perform computer-based diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical issues Service and repair air brake systems Complete routine maintenance, including: Oil changes Brake inspections Wheel balancing Alignments Preventative maintenance services Create repair plans and accurately document completed work Maintain parts inventory and service records Keep the shop and work area clean, organized, and safe Communicate effectively with team members and customers Perform other duties as assigned What We're Looking For Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED Technical training or certification in diesel engine repair preferred Experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and related vehicle systems Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and air brake systems Ability to use diesel diagnostic software and computerized troubleshooting tools Experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Basic computer skills Valid driver's license Skills And Abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Commitment to safety and quality workmanship Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds or more Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, crouch, and work underneath vehicles for extended periods Ability to climb and work at various heights as needed Must not have lifting restrictions Comfortable working around moving mechanical equipment Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold Regular exposure to hydraulic fluid, motor oil, antifreeze, diesel fuel, and other automotive products Ability to work in a moderately loud shop environment Benefits We offer a competitive benefits package, including: Medical Insurance (3 plan options) Dental Insurance (2 plan options) Vision Insurance Employer-Paid Life & AD&D Insurance Voluntary Supplemental Insurance Options 401(k) Retirement Plan Short-Term Disability Long-Term Disability Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Paid Uniforms Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Employee Referral Bonus Program $1,500 Sign-On Bonus
