A leader in autonomous driving since 2007, Torc has spent over a decade commercializing our solutions with experienced partners. Now a part of the Daimler family, we are focused solely on developing software for automated trucks to transform how the world moves freight.&nbsp;Join us and catapult your career with the company that helped pioneer autonomous technology, and the first AV software company with the vision to partner directly with a truck manufacturer.&nbsp; A CDL Driver&nbsp;is responsible for&nbsp;the safe operation of autonomous semi-trucks obeying all traffic laws and&nbsp;complying with&nbsp;DOT regulations.&nbsp;Executes thorough DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections, driving reports and logs, services&nbsp;truck&nbsp;and trailer maintenance such as refueling, tire pressure, lights, etc., and ensures cargo is secured. Navigates inter and intrastate regulations, road and weather conditions, transportation barriers, other&nbsp;driver’s&nbsp;actions, etc. Provide feedback about real-world testing to the safety and software development teams.&nbsp; What You'll Do: &nbsp; Driving and ensuring safe operation of autonomous semi-trucks obeying all traffic laws and&nbsp;complying with&nbsp;DOT regulations.&nbsp; Complete all inspections and safety checks before and after&nbsp;operation&nbsp;of the truck. Any safety concern must be communicated to&nbsp;operations&nbsp;management&nbsp;and&nbsp;approval to drive before moving the vehicle.&nbsp; Complete driving reports, procedures, and tests to collect data to improve&nbsp;the technology&nbsp; Provide essential feedback on system performance to the software and safety teams&nbsp; Effectively navigate Slack, Microsoft Office Suite, and internal software interfaces to support communication, reporting, and daily operational execution&nbsp; Navigating&nbsp;inter&nbsp;and intrastate regulations,&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;accurate&nbsp;logs and records&nbsp; Research and communicate any weather or road conditions that may&nbsp;impact&nbsp;safe driving. Communicate any changing conditions to site location&nbsp;immediately.&nbsp; Notable attention to detail, both with documentation and on the road.&nbsp; Work closely with engineers, software developers, technicians, and operators.&nbsp; Ensure cargo and contents are properly secured in the trailer to prevent damage and injury.&nbsp; Maintain and service truck and trailer as needed such as refueling, tire pressure, etc. Communicate any truck and trailer maintenance needs to the mechanical technician as soon as possible for repairs.&nbsp; Always&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;cleanliness&nbsp;of the truck and trailer.&nbsp; What&nbsp;you’ll&nbsp;need to Succeed: &nbsp; 3+ years of over-the-road driving experience&nbsp; Requires moderate skill set and&nbsp;proficiency&nbsp;in discipline; completes important work under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.&nbsp; Demonstrates competences and technical&nbsp;proficiencies&nbsp;typically&nbsp;acquired&nbsp;through BS+ 0-3+ years of experience.&nbsp; Valid Commercial Class A Driver’s License with a safe driving record&nbsp;required&nbsp; Demonstrates&nbsp;ability&nbsp;to quickly learn and adapt to proprietary software, internally developed tools, and evolving technology platforms.&nbsp; Perks of Being a Full-time&nbsp;Torc’r&nbsp; Torc cares about our team&nbsp;members&nbsp;and we strive to provide benefits and resources to support their health, work/life balance, and future.
