The team focuses on creating warm, fun, and enriched environments where well-trained, compassionate staff help children achieve meaningful goals. Using the COMPASS Curriculum, Hope Coast ABA offers early intensive behavioral intervention through developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons for young learners. As children grow and build skills, they participate in half-day or after-school sessions to practice more advanced skills in a supportive, family-centered setting. Role Description The Behavior Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Providence, RI, supporting children diagnosed with autism through evidence-based behavioral interventions. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), delivering play-based and skill-building sessions, and collecting accurate data on client progress. The Behavior Technician will support children in communication, social, and daily living skills, while maintaining a safe, engaging, and affirming learning environment. This role also involves collaborating with clinical supervisors and caregivers, following assent-based practices, and participating in ongoing training to ensure high-quality, ethical care. Qualifications Strong foundation in Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis, with the ability to implement structured interventions as directed by clinical supervisors. Skills in Communication and Behavioral Intervention, including clear documentation, professional interaction with families and colleagues, and supportive engagement with children. Basic knowledge of Psychology or related fields, and an interest in child development and neurodiversity-informed practices. High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or a degree in psychology, education, social work, or a related field is preferred. Ability to follow detailed treatment plans, collect and record data accurately, and adjust teaching strategies based on feedback. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and capacity to work in an active, play-based clinical environment with children. Willingness to complete Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training and certification, if not already obtained. Background check eligibility and authorization to work in the United States.
