Role Description The Physics Teacher at LinkEd Public Schools is a full-time, on-site position located in Bakersfield, CA. This role is responsible for planning and delivering engaging physics lessons aligned with state standards and school curricula, integrating mathematics and scientific inquiry to build strong conceptual understanding. The teacher will design and implement assessments, provide timely feedback, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom environment, collaborating with colleagues and families, participating in professional development, and supporting school-wide initiatives. The Physics Teacher will also help students connect physics concepts to technology, everyday life, and future academic or career pathways, fostering curiosity and critical thinking. Qualifications Strong subject-matter expertise in Physics and Physics Education, with the ability to make complex concepts accessible to learners. Demonstrated skills in Teaching and Lesson Planning, including experience designing standards-based, engaging, and inclusive instruction. Solid foundation in Mathematics to support quantitative reasoning and problem-solving in physics coursework. Relevant bachelor’s degree in Physics, Physics Education, Science Education, or a closely related field; advanced degree is a plus. Valid teaching credential or eligibility to obtain appropriate certification in California, in accordance with state requirements. Experience working with diverse student populations and a commitment to equity, culturally responsive teaching, and inclusive practices. Effective classroom management, clear communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. Willingness to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, integrate technology into instruction, and participate in ongoing professional learning.
