M2X Energy Inc

Role Overview  The Senior Chemical Process Engineer will become the technical owner of M2X's process design, with responsibility for evaluating, improving, and scaling the company's commercial process systems. This role works across process engineering, equipment design, controls, manufacturing, commissioning, and field operations to ensure systems are safe, reliable, manufacturable, and economically competitive. The primary system is an economical gas-to-liquid conversion plant utilizing stranded methane sources.  You'll collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers (designing and building the systems) and the Operations Team (running the systems and generating data). You will lead data analysis for validation of unit operations and control systems, work with vendors on equipment sizing, selection, and procurement, and create documentation for the operation, maintenance, testing, and safety of these systems. Expectations are that this role will become intimate with the process design, economics, and manufacturability of the system — providing the vision for future design versions.  The Sr. Chemical Process Engineer must work effectively as part of a team and represent M2X Energy well with partners and customers. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical competence and proficiency in chemical process fundamentals and application, along with a passion for developing new technologies that mitigate the worst effects of climate change.  Key Responsibilities  Support design, production, and deployment of modular, manufactured gas to liquid chemical plants  Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering team across 3D CAD team, electrical/controls, quality, factory acceptance testing, and field deployment  Propose design simplifications and improvements  Perform equipment sizing, selection, and procurement for new designs  Based on Material and Energy Balance and P&ID, size heat exchangers, gas/liquid knockout vessels, valves, and other process equipment  Demonstrate knowledge of stainless-steel equipment construction, welding  Identify potential vendors, create RFQs, lead quoting process  Collaborate with Principal Engineer on final equipment selection  Place Purchase Orders with procurement team, follow equipment lifecycle through delivery and installation  Evaluate unit op performance from operational data  Automate data collection and analysis from Factory Acceptance Testing to Field Deployed Units  Unit operations include heat exchangers, catalytic reactors, gas/liquid knockout, valves, filters, and more  Evaluate control system performance   PID controller performance and tuning  Control valve orifice sizing  PLC state-based controls  Manage Technical Data Packages  Manage P&ID revisions, redlines, and as-built with manufacturing  Manage equipment drawings, data sheets, and design documentation  Create documentation  Operation and maintenance procedures and spare parts lists  Control philosophy and schemes  Component and system level testing  Process Safety  Required Qualifications  BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines.
