Role Description The Registered Nurse at Inova Fairfax Hospital provides direct, evidence-based nursing care to patients across diverse clinical units, ensuring safe, compassionate, and culturally competent care. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members. The role also involves patient and family education, documentation of care in the electronic health record, participation in quality and safety initiatives, and adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Falls Church, VA, requiring flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or eligibility for licensure) and graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred). Clinical nursing competencies in patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and monitoring of vital signs and clinical status. Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Proficiency in electronic health records and accurate documentation, with attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple patients, and adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Current BLS certification (and ACLS/PALS as required by unit); prior experience in acute care or specialty areas is highly beneficial.
