About the Position: The purpose of this position is to serve as the Lead Human Resources Assistant responsible for directing and guiding 3 • 5 Human Resources Assistants in GS-203-05 or military equivalent. Incumbent of this position provides technical expertise, guidance and leadership to the Processing Element of the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS). Provide routine technical assistance or training to users of automated personnel database systems Brief applicants on processes or procedures pertaining to their organization Maintain databases to ensure accurate tracking or recordkeeping and review supporting documents to resolve discrepancies in personnel records Distribute workload evenly among team members Ensure new employees are trained and have skills they need to perform well Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, which includes: (1) Providing administrative support; (2) Questioning applicants to obtain and/or verify complete data required; (3) Performing records management of electronic and paper applicant records; and (4) Entering data in automated system(s) to record applicant processing information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Typing Proficiency: This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
