Responsibilities Grow Your Skills, Grow Your Potential Care Center Specialist Position Details A Care Center Specialist is a contact center job. The role involves answering incoming calls and/or chat interactions from customers and assisting them with inquiries/issues while simultaneously working on a computer. Most of your day will be spent working on a computer and talking on the phone with State Farm customers. Care Center Specialists work in a very fast-paced environment, and at times there may be back-to-back calls that you are expected to handle. • 4:15pm (Bloomington & Dallas) 7:00am-3:15pm (Tempe) State Farm provides new employees with a comprehensive paid training program focused on learning the fundamental requirements of the role. Attendance/participation in training is mandatory and candidates must commit to completing the entire training course. Training will be full-time and will last for approximately 13 weeks. While in training employees are expected to demonstrate a strong work ethic that includes remaining engaged, participating in class discussions, and successfully completing the training curriculum. During training you will work the schedule outlined above. Hours/Work Schedule Life Response Center: Our team works in a shift environment between the hours of 7:15 am – 7:30 pm CT Monday-Friday and may include holidays and occasional Saturdays based on workload and job requirements. Once training is complete you will begin working your assigned work schedule. Our Care Center Specialists may work non-traditional schedules in order to meet the needs of our customers. The schedule will repeat every week and may need to change approximately 1-2 times per year, based upon business needs. Full-time work schedules are 38 hours and 45 minutes per week. Work Environment We currently operate in a hybrid work environment where a portion of your work will be done in the office (in a call-center environment), and the other portion of your work will be done at home within an area that you set up specifically for work purposes. State Farm will provide you with all needed computer equipment. We ask that you have a reliable internet connection. (State Farm does not pay for internet service from your home.) If you do not have reliable internet or a quiet place to work free from distractions at home, you may be required to work in the office. Hybrid Work Locations: Bloomington, IL-Corporate, Richardson, TX-CityLine or Tempe, AZ-Marina Heights Hub locations. Incumbency Period Professional development is one of our priorities at State Farm, including internal job movement. New employees into the Life Response Center are eligible to consider new opportunities after 12 – 24 months of service depending on the role. Qualifications The critical skillsets that make someone successful in this role include: Customer Service- Successful Care Center Specialists have a strong focus on providing a Remarkable” customer experience (personalized, caring, simple) throughout every interaction with our customers. Multitasking and Being Resourceful –The role requires speaking to customers on the phone while at the same time navigating between various systems and applications on multiple computer screens. Successful Care Center Specialists have a high comfort level multi-tasking on the computer while having a conversation with the customer and using available resources to find the right procedure needed to help the customer. Communication – Successful Care Center Specialists have strong communication skills, with the ability to convey policy information and procedures clearly while connecting with the customer over the phone and expressing empathy when appropriate.
