Senior Accountant

Location: Cincinnati, OH (On-Site) Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday Pay: $85,000-$95,000 per year Join the Planes Team! Planes Companies is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting team in Cincinnati. This position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, preparing financial reporting, and helping drive continuous process improvements across the department. What You'll Do Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Reconcile general ledger accounts and review journal entries for accuracy. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives. Coordinate with external auditors and assist with annual audit preparation. Maintain and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls. Monitor compliance with company policies and financial regulations. Prepare reports and presentations for leadership and management teams. Participate in system upgrades, process automation projects, and continuous improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations. Cross-train with other accounting team members and support departmental growth. Take on evolving responsibilities and special projects as needed. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). 4+ years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Outlook and Word. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Preferred: Experience participating in financial audits. Experience with process improvement, automation, or accounting system enhancements. Experience supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
