Standard Job Description The Lockheed Space Based Interceptor (SBI) team is seeking an experienced Software Modeling and Simulation Engineer to be part of a team developing defense technology that could forever change our ability to deter and respond to adversity. Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full time Software Modeling and Simulation Engineer Stf. In this role, you will support the software engineering lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP) to include requirements analysis, object oriented analysis & design, code & unit test, integration, and support to formal test/delivery. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of modeling and simulation tools, as well as, programming languages such as C or C++. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require Final Secret government security clearance prior to starting. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Travel up to 5% to Huntsville for Planning activities. Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met. Basic Qualifications Experience with programming languages such as C, C++ Experienced in software modeling and simulation development Experience with full software life cycle development including SW design, architecture and integration & test Standard teaming: Ability to work with multi-disciplined teams Desired Skills Knowledge of Agile Software Development Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment Excellent written and verbal communication Knowledge of Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE) Previous Experience Designing To Software Requirements Experience with full software life cycle development including SW design, architecture and integration & test Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Aerospace Engineering or other related degree program from an accredited college/university Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice #LMSpaceSoftwareEng Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
