# Staff Accountant

We work closely with our IT and Engineering clients to identify talented professionals for a variety of technical and engineering positions across multiple locations. We are currently hiring on behalf of our clients for the following position: Position: Staff Accountant I Location: Urbandale, IA Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 5+ About the Role We are seeking a Staff Accountant I to support accounting operations and take ownership of key processes and projects. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can work independently, analyze complex issues, collaborate with stakeholders, and identify opportunities to improve processes and overall efficiency. Key Responsibilities Manage accounting processes and deliverables with minimal supervision. Take ownership of end-to-end accounting projects/processes , including planning, tracking milestones, and timely completion. Analyze complex accounting and operational issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions. Partner with internal teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve inquiries and improve processes. Provide guidance, training, and knowledge-sharing to junior team members and peers. Recommend and support process improvements , best practices, and operational efficiencies. Perform detailed analysis and evaluate potential impacts to support sound business decisions. Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to overall accounting/finance operations. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field 5+ years of professional experience in Accounting or Finance Experience in accounting operations/finance operations or a similar transaction-processing environment. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities. Proven experience owning end-to-end processes or projects . Strong analytical and problem-solving skills . Excellent communication and stakeholder partnering skills . Ability to work effectively across teams and resolve complex issues. Preferred Qualifications Experience with process improvement and KPI/metrics monitoring . Experience training or coaching peers/junior colleagues .
