Supervisory IT Specialist (Security)

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Office of Information Technology, Infrastructure User Services Group (IUSG), Division of Operations Management (DOM). As a Supervisory IT Specialist (Security), GS-2210-14, you will lead staff responsible for managing and overseeing the operations, enhancement, and delivery of services for the multi-tier processing platforms and IT resources within IUSG-managed Data Centers.
Assume full operational authority for the Division in the Director's absence, acting with full authority of commitment within the Division's jurisdiction.
Mobilize and coordinate a diverse staff of federal and contractor IT professionals across multiple IT specialty areas.
Serve as technical expert and advisor to CMS leadership at the Group, Center, and Agency level on IT security policy, disaster recovery planning, and Data Center operations.
Oversee operational security of the CMS IT infrastructure, including Access Control Systems and response to security incidents.

AND In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1)Administering or supporting a data center or Hybrid Cloud operations, including incident response, implementation planning, or security procedures; and 2) Ensuring compliance with IT security policy, via vulnerability mitigation, security audits, and corrective action tracking; and 3) Assisting in providing team leadership, including assigning tasks, setting priorities, coordinating technical projects, and providing technical recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
