Role Description The Agency Sales Representative is a full-time, flexible, hybrid role based in Las Cruces, NM. This position is responsible for prospecting and building relationships with employers, presenting Colonial Life’s workplace benefit solutions, and supporting agencies in implementing and managing benefit programs. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with business leaders, conducting needs assessments, explaining product offerings, coordinating enrollment activities, and providing ongoing client service and support. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams, maintaining accurate records in sales systems, and meeting or exceeding sales and performance goals. The Agency Sales Representative contributes to market growth by identifying new opportunities and ensuring a positive experience for employers and their employees. Qualifications Strong sales, business development, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage employers and decision-makers. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to explain complex benefit solutions clearly and professionally. Organizational, time management, and follow-up skills to manage multiple accounts, meetings, and enrollment activities. Customer service and problem-solving abilities to respond to client needs, resolve issues, and support ongoing benefit administration. Basic proficiency with office productivity tools and CRM or sales tracking systems; comfort learning new enrollment technologies. Ability to work on-site in Las Cruces, NM, including regular in-person meetings with clients and agency partners. Prior experience in insurance, employee benefits, or B2B sales is preferred but not required. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is a plus. Current or willingness to obtain applicable state insurance licensing within required timeframes. Classroom and on the job training!
