This is a non-bargaining unit position.
As a Security Specialist, at the full performance level, you will perform the following duties: Serves as a Security Specialist (Communications Security) Regional Operations Manager responsible for administering and executing the Communication Security (COMSEC) Program. Serves as the technical expert for cryptologic requirements for voice (wired and wireless), data connectivity and may serve as the alternate COMSEC account manager for a major account. Works within the framework of agency policies and program objectives as prescribed by the Chief Security Officer or Division Director of Security Division. Advises the COMSEC Program Manager on all operational aspects of the program in the designated regional area of responsibility.

You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one the following: Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Enforce program policies and regulations for communication security (COMSEC) programs ensuring compliance with applicable laws, orders, and instructions; Ensure accountability within the designated region using program accounting system; Prepare regional operations for bi-annual inventories, self-inspections, audits, and security compliance reviews; Coordinated the issuance of cryptologic equipment and material issued to program users; OR Manage the lifecycle requirements of electronic cryptographic keying material from issuance until retirement. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
