Senior GL Accountant

New Location: West Seattle About this role Outdoor Research is seeking a team-oriented Senior GL Accountant who will own a wide array of general ledger activities General responsibilities include overseeing the operational accounting of assigned GLs, financial statement analysis and audit support Perform month-end close duties related to COGS and inventory, prepare journal entries, complete reconciliations and analyze balances Own the end-to-end process for the quarterly inventory obsolescence reserve and the semi-annual cost roll Manage monthly accounting for fixed assets and intangibles, posting journal entries and assessing assets for capitalization and impairment Perform accounting duties related to retail stores including posting journal entries, completing reconciliations and preparing management reporting Other ad-hoc analysis and reporting tasks as needed What you should bring to the table: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field 5+ years of accounting experience Knowledge of general financial and cost accounting principles, including experience with cost-of-goods sold and inventory Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work independently Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify root-cause issues and propose solutions to leadership Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Passionate and energetic team player who can work cross-functionally with a variety of non-finance teams Proficient with accounting software and experience using an ERP system, business intelligence and reporting tools Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Preferred Qualifications: CPA preferred Public accounting experience a plus Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Experience with internal controls and SOX compliance What do we bring to the table? 11 paid holidays each year and 3 floating holidays PTO/PSST Transportation benefits Paid volunteer time Comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans 401k with discretionary company match Product discounts Employee interest groups including various sports activities
