ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN with Bureau of Reclamation. The Engineering Technician serves as the primary source for computer-aided design (CAD) for the LowerColorado Dams Office, Davis Dam Division, and is responsible for reviewing designs for compliance withcurrent industry practices and ensures designs fit field conditions. Duties include: Develops, prepares, and/or reviews plans, specifications, and cost estimates for construction and/orproposed/ongoing projects. Reviews designs for compliance with current industry practices and ensures designs fit fieldconditions; suggests modifications when issues are identified. Utilizes automated engineering drafting and design systems and applications. Uses a variety of contracting processes to provide engineering oversight for construction, architecture,or engineering contracts. Validates data used for and loaded into electronic/automated design and records managementapplications. Provides technical oversight in ensuring data integrity. Minimum Qualification Requirements: To qualify for this position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: To qualify at the GS-08, your resume must reflect one year of full time experience equivalent to the GS-07 level: 1) creating packages and drawing sets utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software with accuracy and attention to detail; 2) surveying and construction cost estimating of materials AND 3) inspecting contractors work. Must meet all.
