The Funds &amp; Advisory team manages a diversified portfolio that, consistent with the rest of NYCEDC, is dedicated to expanding opportunity and enriching NYC’s economy. Investments are made directly in companies and into funds. Investments cut across asset classes, including debt, equity, and guarantees and seek blended financial and social / environmental returns. The Funds &amp; Advisory team also advises internal and external stakeholders on a range of strategic initiatives and financial topics. ​&nbsp; The Senior Associate will assist with all aspects of the impact investment process, including pipeline sourcing, financial analysis and modeling, due diligence, investment memorandum preparation, presentation to the relevant governance committee(s), legal documentation, transaction execution and funding. The Senior Associate will also assist with the broader advisory function, ongoing fund portfolio monitoring and reporting and research-based evaluation and program design associated with the launch of new impact investment tools.&nbsp; Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities: Source pipeline and screen business plans to cultivate impact investment opportunities&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Support&nbsp;due diligence in the form of business model evaluation, financial analysis,&nbsp;and industry/market analysis&nbsp; Develop and&nbsp;maintain&nbsp;detailed financial models, including ability to isolate and manipulate key model drivers&nbsp; Assist&nbsp;with investment structuring and credit and valuation analyses (e.g.,&nbsp;IRR&nbsp;and&nbsp;DCF&nbsp;analyses)&nbsp; Review and negotiate&nbsp;term sheets and legal documentation&nbsp; Prepare investment memorandums&nbsp;and&nbsp;presentations to inform senior decision-making, including&nbsp;presenting&nbsp;investment recommendations to NYCEDC executive staff,&nbsp;board&nbsp;members,&nbsp;and City officials&nbsp;&nbsp; Assist&nbsp;with fund monitoring and reporting, including financial and impact returns&nbsp;&nbsp; Support&nbsp;internal and external colleagues&nbsp;with impact investment&nbsp;program design&nbsp;and execution&nbsp; Prepare ad-hoc analyses&nbsp;to evaluate&nbsp;new impact investment programs and strategic opportunities&nbsp;&nbsp; Collaborate with colleagues in other NYCEDC departments, including but not limited to Legal,&nbsp;Finance,&nbsp;Strategy,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Initiatives to support organizational and city priorities&nbsp; Other duties as assigned&nbsp; Qualifications: Undergraduate degree&nbsp;&nbsp; At least&nbsp;3&nbsp;years of transactional experience in&nbsp;a&nbsp;relevant field (e.g., investing, investment banking, private equity, real estate finance)&nbsp; Demonstrated interest in or experience with impact investing that balances financial returns with measurable social, economic, or environmental outcomes preferred.&nbsp; Proven&nbsp;financial analysis skills, including&nbsp;financial modeling, underwriting and/or valuation,&nbsp;and quantitative analysis&nbsp;&nbsp; Proficiency&nbsp;using spreadsheet and presentation applications, including Excel and PowerPoint&nbsp; Effective&nbsp;written and&nbsp;verbal&nbsp;communication skills, including public speaking and engagement with external stakeholders&nbsp; Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities while&nbsp;maintaining&nbsp;organization, accuracy, and&nbsp;attention to detail.&nbsp;&nbsp; Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate information,&nbsp;identify&nbsp;trends, and develop evidence-based recommendations.&nbsp; Demonstrated&nbsp;sound&nbsp;judgment, with the ability to assess opportunities and support informed decision-making.&nbsp; Demonstrated ability to assess opportunities through analytical and critical thinking to support sound decision-making.&nbsp;&nbsp; Demonstrated ability to manage work independently and contribute effectively within cross-functional teams&nbsp; Demonstrated interest in NYC, public policy, public-private partnerships, and program design&nbsp; NYC residency is&nbsp;required&nbsp;within&nbsp;180 days&nbsp;of hire&nbsp; Salary Range$90,000&mdash;$92,000 USD About Us: New York City Economic Development Corporation is a mission-driven, nonprofit organization that works for a vibrant, inclusive, and globally competitive economy for all New Yorkers.
