Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Role Overview: The Outpatient RN CAP 1 provides clinically competent care in a dialysis setting, including patient assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and evaluation. Responsibilities: Collect and analyze patient data, adjust treatment plans, educate patients and families, administer medications, assist with emergencies, oversee laboratory procedures, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective hemodialysis therapy. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited nursing school, current state licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience (preferred). Skills & Duties: Perform patient assessments, document care plans, provide patient education, direct care staff, and participate in quality improvement activities. Physical demands include lifting, standing, and moving equipment, with exposure to health care environment conditions. Supervision & Training: May oversee other staff after meeting training and experience requirements, including a minimum of 9 months as an RN and 3 months in hemodialysis. Additional Info: On-the-job training provided; no prior dialysis experience needed. The role involves rotating shifts and may require travel.
